Botstiber Scholars Program: Global Engagement and Leadership Experience

Botstiber Scholar Joseph Tumwebaze attended Penn State’s Global Engagement Leadership Experience (GELE) conference from February 7 – 9, 2020, in State College, PA. The conference brings together international and U.S. students to discuss and learn about global leadership, through conversations, engaging activities, and practical simulations.

Joseph Tumwebaze was one of the 40 students selected to participate in this highly competitive summit and shares his rewarding experience:

“I had the unique opportunity to be a part of the Global Engagement and Leadership Experience organized by Global Programs at Penn State University. I was able to learn what it takes to be a Global Leader, and I really enjoyed the interactions and engagement with other students from diverse backgrounds with a representation of about 20 different countries. The cultural simulation was a great experience as well.”
